Open Volunteer Roles:
VOLUNTEER
Social Media Coordinator (1) – This individual will assist with posting communications to our families on Facebook and ClassDojo
PTACHC Delegates (2) – These individuals will attend the monthly PTA Council of Howard County meetings. This role is a shared role so one individual is not attending every meeting. The meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month at 7:30pm in the Homewood School Cafeteria.
CAC Delegates (2) – These individuals will attend the monthly Community Advisory Council meetings. The CAC provides feedback, insight, and community views to the Board of Education of Howard County (BOE). The meetings are usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the BOE Boardroom. This role is a shared role so one individual is not attending every meeting.
SECAC Delegates (2) – These individuals will attend the monthly Special Education Community Advisory Council meetings. Under law, Howard County Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC) advises the school system on the needs of students with disabilities. The meetings are usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm at Wilde Lake Middle School. This role is a shared role so one individual is not attending every meeting.
HCPSM Delegates (2) – These individuals will attend the monthly Howard County Parents for School Music (HCPSM) meetings. This group meets to discuss areas where HCPSM may be able to effectively advocate for music students and teachers, as well as to discuss ways of promoting and recognizing music achievements throughout Howard County. The meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Atholton High School Media Center.
Volunteer Coordinator – This individual will assist all the event coordinators with getting volunteers for events.
Grant Writing Coordinators (2) – These individuals will complete any grant applications for grants the PTA would like to apply for.
